Harris Stowe was a historically black public university in St. Louis. It had a School of Business, a College of Arts and Sciences and a College of Education. The School of Business was burned to the ground but most of the rest of the University stayed intact. A community has been built around the World Class Early Childhood Center, a polycarbonate clad building that housed classrooms, and any number of spaces devoted to educating young children.
To that end, the Harris Stowe community seems to have adopted the goal of saving/giving a home to as many survivor children as possible. The community has a good relationship with Refuge Point. It is led by former English professor Isiah Spears.
